Torino president Urbano Cairo is loath to let Perr Schuurs leave the Serie A side amid interest from Liverpool and Newcastle United in his transfer.
That is according to Calciomercato, which reports that Schuurs is likely to be one of the top protagonists of the summer transfer window this year.
But Cairo has issued a clear message to other club executives at the Olimpico di Torino that he does not intend to let the Dutchman leave after one season.

Schuurs only joined Torino from AFC Ajax last August in a €9.5m (£8.5m), plus €3.5m (£3m) in add-ons, move. The deal also features a 15% sell-on clause.
Yet Schuurs has enjoyed a superb debut season in Turin as an instrumental part of manager Ivan Juric’s plans. He has started 25 of his 26 Serie A outings so far.
Unnamed Premier League clubs are now ready to test Cairo’s resolve having set their sights on the 23-year-old. Yet the Torino chief is eager to lean on his contract running to 2026.

Liverpool have made contact with Torino over Schuurs’ transfer
While Calciomercato does not cite which Premier League teams are keen, Tuttosport noted in March that Liverpool approached Torino to discuss Schuurs’ transfer.
It further noted that Anfield coach Jurgen Klopp is increasingly confident that the 6 ft 3 star can cut it in the Premier League. He has also wanted Schuurs since 2020.
Klopp is more convinced than ever that Liverpool should target Schuurs’ transfer following his impressive debut campaign with Torino.
But Torino would want €50m (£44.5m) to deprive themselves of Schuurs. Plus, Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur and Paris Saint-Germain chiefs are monitoring his situation.

Newcastle are ready to make a move for the Torino defender
A move for Schuurs’ transfer from Torino also interests Newcastle, according to Gianluca Di Marzio in April. The Toon’s Saudi-backed owners are also intent on making a swoop.
Additionally, Fabrizio Romano claimed in April that Newcastle have scouted Schuurs in view of the Torino enforcer’s transfer.
The Magpies sent their talent spotters to the Olimpico di Torino this February and March to run the rule. Inter Milan have also had their staff scout the Dutchman.
