Janusz Michallik has told Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool to secure the transfer of Chelsea target Moises Caicedo ‘right now’, with Benfica and Argentina star, Enzo Fernandez, being an ‘unrealistic signing’.
The former USA international pointed out that Liverpool ‘needs legs’ in the middle of the park and Brighton’s midfield star would be ‘nearly perfect’ for them, as he told ESPN.
In the summer transfer window, Klopp insisted that his team didn’t need fresh faces in the midfield, only for him to make a u-turn during the last few weeks.

That’s when they panicked and rushed into bringing Arthur Melo to Merseyside from Juventus on a loan deal, only for the Brazil star to get injured and not start a single game…yet.
Either way, with or without Arthur Melo, those issues are still there for the club and the January and summer transfer windows need to be used for the repair job to start.
Whilst Cody Gakpo has been added to Liverpool’s ranks this month, he’s boosting the forward line, as Michallik sent the urgent transfer message regarding Caicedo, who would be an Enzo Fernandez alternative.
“Caicedo, I would do it now,” said Michallik. “If there is a way and we don’t know. But they need legs.
“One of my favourite players. Unrealistic maybe, but it has been mentioned by everybody, even in the rumour mill of Liverpool, is Enzo Fernandez, who I absolutely love.
“At this point, you could easily make the argument, if Enzo Fernandez wanted to come to Liverpool, then you would take him. But that’s not exactly what Liverpool needs.
“I mean that midfield needs legs. That’s exactly what you are going to get. A physical player. Box-to-box. He can defend. He can attack. Moises Caicedo, the profile for Liverpool, at this moment, they need it right now and right away because that’s not going to be easily fixed, even when everybody is healthy. That would be a perfect or a nearly perfect signing.”

CAICEDO IS A KLOPP-TYPE OF SIGNING
During Klopp’s time at Liverpool, he’s never really gone and purchased the ready-made stars, but those on the cusp or showcasing great talent, before transforming them into superstars.
Mo Salah arrived from Roma, Andy Robertson joined from Hull City, and both Virgil van Dijk and Sadi Mane were snapped up from Southampton.
A player the Reds dearly miss now – Gini Wijnaldum – joined following Newcastle United’s relegation in 2016 and he went on to win the lot with the club.
You could see Caicedo having that sort of transformation if the money is put down for his talents.
