Tony Cascarino doesn’t think Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool will sign Declan Rice from West Ham United this summer.
But the former Liverpool striker expects the Reds to go ‘big again’ as they look to reshape their midfield after missing out on the Champions League for next season, as he told talkSPORT.
Declan Rice is going to be the talk of the summer transfer window as a number of European giants fight it out for his signature, with Cascarino adding that ‘other clubs are in front of Liverpool’ for the West Ham captain.

After the Reds signed Alexis Mac Allister from Brighton and Hove Albion for just £35 million, then it will be interesting to see what transfer fee Rice fetches.
It could be argued that Mac Allister’s stock is higher because he just won the World Cup and helped Brighton to Europe for the first time ever, whereas Rice won the Europa Conference League and narrowly avoided relegation from the Premier League, in comparison.
Either way, Cascarino spoke about the England star’s future and why a move to Anfield won’t happen.
“I don’t think they will get him,” said Cascarino. “But certainly, if they took Declan Rice, then I would love it. I just don’t think it will happen. There are other clubs in front of Liverpool for Declan Rice.
“They have done it once before where they have spent really big on Alisson and van Dijk in a short period of time. I think this summer they will do again big, but it probably won’t be Rice.”

Will Rice stay in the Premier League?
There is talk of Bayern Munich, but will Rice want to stay in his comfort zone and remain in London for the next chapter of his career?
It’s understandable if he does because there are many elite clubs in England, plus he has a young family.
Either way, he is ready for that step to the elite and competing with the best, but this is where the real test begins for Rice, a player who ‘Pep Guardiola loves’, according to Alan Brazil.
