Jose Enrique has backed Liverpool to sign Christian Eriksen on a free-transfer, with Tottenham seemingly favourites to land his signature.
Belgian journalist Kristof Terreur has claimed that Eriksen wants to stay in London, which might give Tottenham an edge to sign the 30-year-old, with Enrique describing the player as being ‘more offensive’ than Liverpool’s Thiago, as he posted on his Instagram story.
Added with that, The Times did also report that Spurs are ‘quietly confident’ that they can bring the soon-to-be free-agent back to the club.

Eriksen spent the second half of the 2021/22 Premier League season at Brentford, who would be keen to keep him on board, but of course, they now face serious competition, including from Manchester United and Newcastle United.
But Enrique wants the one-time Serie A winner to lace up his boots and head to Merseyside and join Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool, as he posted on his IG story.
“Another interesting player that could be our solution to our midfield,” said Enrique. “And spending nothing because he is a free agent.
“He is a short-term solution but then we can wait for Bellingham next season – He will play if he deserves to play like everyone else. Eriksen is a top player and I believe he can compete for a starting spot in our XI. The season is very long.
“He is that kind of player, like Thiago, but maybe a little bit more offensive. But Thiago is our magician.”

ERIKSEN’S PAST RELATIONSHIP WITH TOTTENHAM SHOULD GIVE THEM THE EDGE
Given that Eriksen elevated his game and put himself on the map in the colours of Tottenham for many years, then that should provide them with a further edge to sign the playmaker.
Added with that, the north London club are also back in the Champions League and that’s where the elite players want to be performing.
Either way, with Eriksen’s contract at Brentford due to expire at the end of this month, he has a big call to make regarding his future.
Given that Brentford were the only ones in the Premier League willing to put their faith in the player back in January, will he repay them back by staying in west London? Well, only time will tell.
