Liverpool midfielder Thiago has played down any chance of re-signing for Barcelona amid claims Xavi wants him back at the Camp Nou.
Bild’s Christian Falk reported earlier this month that Xavi wants to re-sign Thiago for Barcelona.
Xavi played with Thiago at Barcelona, before the now-Liverpool star left for Bayern Munich in 2013.
You can understand why Xavi may fancy adding somebody with that Barca DNA, and Falk’s claims had some weight.
Falk was one of the main reporters claiming that Thiago would join Liverpool from Bayern in 2020 – and it came true.
This time though, it does seem unlikely that Liverpool would sanction a deal.
Thiago has only started three Premier League games this season, but Liverpool have been struggling for bodies in midfield.
Letting Thiago go in January would be bizarre from Liverpool, and could Barcelona even afford his £200,000-a-week wages?
Now, Thiago has commented on the rumours – and effectively ruled out a move back to the Camp Nou.

As quoted by The Telegraph, Thiago has indicated that he is ‘not concerned’ about the Barcelona rumours.
Thiago indicated he wants to win trophies with Liverpool rather than leave for Barcelona, which seems a pretty clear message.
“As I always have been, I am a guy who plays football. I am not concerned about the rumours,” said Thiago.
“I’m focused on the duty I have with my team and the years I have in contract with my team. I just want to know about this new adventure that I have here in the Premier League and to try to win all the trophies I can. My commitment is with this team,” he added.
