Liverpool midfielder Thiago is indeed a target for new Barcelona boss Xavi even if the finances involved would be a little tricky.
That’s according to Bild’s Christian Falk, which is actually more significant than it may first seem.
Many of us have seen Falk’s usual ‘true or false’ segments with Bild, and this Thiago claim is another one.
Falk claims Barcelona do want to bring Thiago back to the Camp Nou having lost him to Bayern Munich in 2013.
Xavi wants players with Barcelona DNA and Thiago absolutely fits that bill.
Liverpool wouldn’t be minded to lose Thiago, especially in the middle of the season, and Thiago’s £200,000-a-week wages will surely be an issue for Barcelona.
Yet when it comes to Falk, he does have some pretty good history when it comes to Thiago.

Falk was adamant that Thiago would be joining Liverpool from Bayern last year when many were refuting the claims.
Falk ended up being right in the end as Thiago completed his move to Anfield, so maybe these Barcelona claims should be considered.
A January deal surely won’t happen, but Barcelona making a summer attempt for Thiago sounds more realistic.
