Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool look likely to miss out on the signing of Barcelona midfielder Pedri.
Liverpool interest
Liverpool have been linked with a move for Barcelona star Pedri.
The Mirror reported in April of the Reds’ interest in the midfielder.
It was reported at the time that Liverpool had made contact with the agents of the teenager.
Barcelona do not want to sell Pedri, who has a release clause of £70 million.
Release clause to go up
Now, if Liverpool decide to trigger the release clause of £70 million, then there is nothing that Barcelona can do.
It will then be up to Pedri to decide.
However, it now seems that Liverpool are likely to miss out on the Spain international, described as “incredible” by former England head coach Fabio Capello in La Vanguardia this week.

Mundo Deportivo are now reporting that Barcelona plan to take up the option to extend Pedri’s contract for two more seasons.
That will see the youngster stay at Cap Nou until 2024. His current deal runs out next summer.
The release clause will also go to up €400 million (£343.49m).
We can safely say that Liverpool – or any other club for that matter – will not pay that release clause.
It is clear that Barcelona are determined to keep hold of Pedri and will not sell him this summer.
