According to Voetbal24, Liverpool have set their sights on Rennes forward Jeremy Doku this summer, having targeted him for a while.
What’s the story?
Well, it seems as if the Reds are stepping up their pursuit of the Belgian.
Liverpool’s interest was first documented in 2020, where it was said that Jürgen Klopp had wanted the 19-year-old for many years.
Doku’s father David has also revealed that Klopp told him how he saw the rapid forward as a potential successor to Sadio Mané at Anfield.
In a chat with Goal, Doku’s father added that he wanted his son to join the Reds, after the pair of them visited Ajax and Liverpool.
Now, it seems as if Klopp is stepping up the hunt. He won’t come cheaply though, as Voetbal24 believe Rennes want €45m (£38m).
Jeremy Doku made Gary Lineker dizzy

Despite his age, Doku was trusted by Roberto Martinez to play against eventual champions Italy at EURO 2020, in the quarter-final no less.
Sadly, Belgium lost 2-1, but Doku put his name up in lights.
The wonderkid completed eight dribbles, a record for a teenager since Opta began collecting data for the World Cup and European Championship.
Such was his mesmeric dribbling ability, Doku made Gary Lineker feel dizzy after the BBC Match of the Day host watched Belgium’s defeat to Italy.
By all accounts, the youngster is a massive talent.

However, as aforesaid, he won’t be cheap.
Klopp better get his chequebook out if he truly wants the Rennes prodigy.
