Andy Townsend has said on talkSPORT (5:43pm, March 21, 2022) that Djed Spence should not move to Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool in the summer transfer window.
Spence is on loan at Nottingham Forest from Championship rivals Middlesbrough at the moment and has been linked with a move to Klopp’s Liverpool.
In February, The Northern Echo suggested Liverpool as a potential destination for the 21-year-old, who can play as a right-back or as a left-back.
Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur are also keen on the youngster.
Former Chelsea player Townsend said about Spence on talkSPORT (5:43pm, March 21, 2022): “He has been outstanding. During that Cup run, he was absolutely fantastic. He looks like a player of real promise.
“However, I don’t think anyone should go to a club knowing you are going to go there and going to sit and you are going to wait. If he goes to Liverpool, those two positions (right-back and left-back) are incredibly strong at that club.”

Djed Spence should consider Liverpool transfer
In our opinion, if Spence has the chance to move to Liverpool, then he should take it.
The 21-year-old may not get another chance to play for one of the biggest and most iconic clubs in the world.
Trent Alexander-Arnold is the first-choice right-back at Liverpool, and the England international plays when he is fit.
After all, he is a world-class right-back and one of the best in his position in the world.
However, Liverpool could do with a back-up.
Yes, Joe Gomez can operate as a right-back, but he could leave this summer.
And James Milner is not getting any younger.
Now, Spence would have to bide his time, but he could make it big at Liverpool.
