Liverpool and Newcastle United are chasing Jonathan David, with the Lille striker’s agent talking up a potential move in 2022.

Liverpool and Newcastle chase David deal

David has been in blistering form this season, bagging 14 goals in 25 outings for Lille.

The 21-year-old has been likened to Luis Suarez and now finds himself being targeted for a transfer.

Le10Sport report that Newcastle United would love to sign David.

The Magpies would need to stay up, but with PIF’s financial backing, they have real hope of a deal.

Liverpool have been linked for a long time, and Jeunes Footeux suggest that the Reds are the most interested club.

January bids could be on the horizon, and both Liverpool and Newcastle will be encouraged after hearing his agent’s comments.

David agent talks up Premier League move

David’s agent Nick Mavromaras has been speaking to Radio Canada, confirming a move will happen soon.

Mavromaras claims this is David’s last season with Lille and he wants to leave in the summer of 2022.

It’s suggested that the Premier League is a ‘great option’ for David after those Liverpool and Newcastle claims.

Mavromaras added that a move to Spain or Italy is possible too, opening up the race for David’s signature.

“For us, the goal is to finish the season in Lille, but it will be his last season there for several reasons,” said Mavromaras. “I think the Premier League is a great option for him.”

“I think he likes Spain a lot too because he likes the feeling of the ball and the very technical players. These two leagues are a big priority for him, but nothing is excluded. You never know, with Paris Saint-Germain or the big Italian clubs,” he added.
