Liverpool want Moises Caicedo but Brighton and Hove Albion are now moving to try and block the midfielder from leaving.
You can be sure that Liverpool will be linked with midfielder after midfielder ahead of next summer’s transfer window.
James Milner, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Naby Keita are all out of contract next summer and could leave the club.
That would leave Liverpool short of bodies in midfield, but it’s time for an overhaul of the engine room anyway.
Jude Bellingham appears to be Liverpool’s top target for 2023 but they will surely have other irons in the fire.

Liverpool want Moises Caicedo
The Mirror report that Liverpool and Arsenal have joined Manchester United in looking at Caicedo.
Chelsea may also be interested given that they have just snatched Caicedo’s Brighton boss Graham Potter to replace Thomas Tuchel.
Brighton don’t want to lose anybody else though and are now pushing to try and keep hold of Caicedo for the long term.
Caicedo is contracted to Brighton until 2025 but the Seagulls now want to hold talks over a new, longer-term deal.
Brighton paid just £4.5million to sign Caicedo from Independiente del Valle in February 2021 and spent the first half of last season on loan at Beerschot in Belgium.
Now starring in the Premier League, Caicedo has been one of the top performers in the opening weeks of the new season.
Hailed as ‘fantastic’ by Potter, Caicedo has dazzled as a box-to-box midfielder and reports from Ecuador in August suggested that Liverpool were ready to offer around £42million for him.
No late move materialised but Liverpool may well have Caicedo on their radar as a fallback option if they can’t secure Bellingham next summer.
If Brighton can secured this new contract though, they will be in a position to demand a similar fee to what Borussia Dortmund will want for Bellingham.
Basically, if Liverpool want to give new life to their midfield, they will need to come with huge cash.
