Matt Le Tissier has taken to Twitter to give his reaction to comments from Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp and Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer about refereeing decisions in the Premier League this past weekend.

The Southampton legend and former Sky Sports pundit has said that it is “ironic” that it is the managers of United and Liverpool who are complaining about not getting what he thinks are “soft fouls”.

Le Tissier seems to suggest that it is Liverpool and United who generally have decisions go in favour of them.

As reported by and quoted in The Mirror, Liverpool manager Klopp was not pleased with Burnley’s physical approach to their Premier League game this past weekend and compared their style to “wrestling”.

United boss Solskjaer was not pleased with some of the refereeing decisions in the Premier League game against Southampton, as reported by and quoted in The Mirror.

Solskjaer was not particular happy that a challenge on midfielder Bruno Fernandes was not deemed a foul in the build-up to the Southampton goal.

Football is a contact sport, and the Premier League is a physical league.

That is one of the most special aspects of English football.

Now, of course, you do not want to see bad and dangerous challenges, but you want to see players competing for each and every ball and staying on their feet and not going down easily.
