Jose Enrique thinks Arsenal will secure the January transfer of Shakhtar Donetsk and Ukraine star, Mykhailo Mudryk, as he praised Mikel Arteta for bringing the ‘right’ players into the club.

The former Liverpool left-back posted on Instagram that Mudryk is a ‘great’ player to have in Arsenal’s quest to secure Premier League glory this season.

After missing out on Champions League football last season, the Gunners are sitting top of the pile in England’s top-flight, where they are eight points ahead of the current champions, Manchester City.

Someone like Mudryk, 22, has been on the club’s radar for some while, well before Gabriel Jesus picked up an injury at the 2022 Qatar World Cup.

But with the Brazil international missing from Arsenal’s forward line, those at the Emirates feel the need to add some much-needed depth.

And Enrique thinks ‘this is going to be done soon’, as he made reference to Mudryk heading to north London.

“I believe this is going to be done soon, this deal,” said Enrique. “He is a great player to have a chance to keep fighting for the Premier League.

“They are doing a great job with Arteta and spending the money on the right players. Well done to Arsenal.”

MUDRYK SENDING OUT SIGNAL AFTER SIGNAL

The issue doesn’t seem to be Mudryk, or even Shakhtar Donetsk not allowing him to leave.

But the Ukrainian side getting the money they want for the player, even if it’s inflated in an already-inflated transfer market.

The player himself can’t stop sending out signal after signal that he wants this move, including liking a post which made reference to #FreeMudryk.

Either way, even though it’s still very early on in the window, it wouldn’t be a surprise if this deal drags on, and if it does, then a few more posts might be liked or posted by Mudryk.
