One Liverpool icon believes Bruno Fernandes isn’t doing the right thing!
Bruno Fernandes recently made some shocking comments to the Portuguese media, revealing that he turned down a lucrative transfer out of Manchester United this summer.
However, in these comments, Fernandes also mentioned that the club was trying to push him out, something he had to fight against so he could stay with the team he loves.

Steve Nicol claims Bruno Fernandes is ‘looking for sympathy’ from Manchester United fans
Former Liverpool star Steve Nicol spoke on ESPN FC about the recent comments from Bruno Fernandes and his failed transfer out of Manchester United this summer.
Nicol questioned why Bruno would even make these comments and what his goal was.
Furthermore, Nicol quipped that while Bruno says he loves the club, he wouldn’t hesitate to leave if a bigger team like Real Madrid came calling.
“I’m trying to figure out why he’s coming out with this anyway,” said Nicol. “What’s the point of this? Is he looking for sympathy? Is he looking for a pat on the back?
“‘Oh, I love the club. I don’t want to go.’ If Real Madrid had come, would he have stayed? He loves the club that much? I don’t think so. I think he’d have been on that plane as quickly as possible.”
Bruno Fernandes’ future is in question once again
These comments from Bruno Fernandes are eerily similar to Mohamed Salah’s frustrations with Liverpool, as the Egyptian complained about a lack of respect over his starting role on the team.
Much like Salah, these remarks from Bruno have the United faithful wondering whether their captain is angling for a move away from the team and whether he is blaming the team for his eventual exit.
Losing Bruno would be a devastating blow for United, as he has been their talisman not just this season, but for half a decade.
Perhaps this is an issue that can be sorted out with a quick conversation between Fernandes and the United executives, but this is definitely a situation to monitor.
