Bruno Fernandes has brushed off suggestions that he’s the Premier League’s most annoying player, pointing instead to a rival at Manchester City.
Since arriving at Manchester United, Fernandes hasn’t always been fully appreciated by fans or pundits in England. Despite winning Player of the Year four times, there have been debates this season about whether the club should have let him go.
That debate hasn’t really been about his performances. Instead, it centres more around how Ruben Amorim has used him. Fernandes is more effective higher up the pitch behind the striker than in the deeper role he’s often played.
Fernandes recently gave a candid interview discussing his situation at United and addressing rumours that the board may be looking to move him on in the summer.
The United captain also spoke openly about how he’s perceived on the pitch across England.
Bruno Fernandes picks Premier League’s most irritating player

Fernandes’ leadership has been a topic of debate ever since he took over as United captain.
While his dedication to the club can’t be questioned, he doesn’t fit the mould of someone like Roy Keane, which some people hold against him.
The midfielder is aware that his habit of waving his arms around in frustration isn’t well-received in English football.
But Fernandes has pushed back on the idea that he’s the league’s most annoying player, a label that’s stuck with him over time.
Instead, Fernandes pointed to Man City and Portugal midfielder Bernardo Silva as someone who fits that description even better.
Speaking to Canal 11, as quoted by Daily Mail reporter Nathan Salt, Fernandes said: “My image on the pitch makes me seem like someone who’s always complaining, but Bernardo Silva is more annoying than me!
“He’s politically correct and I’m not! My problem is talking with my arms.”
The two players will again share a dressing room for Portugal at next year’s World Cup in Mexico and Canada.
Bruno Fernandes leads Europe in chance creation
Even though Fernandes doesn’t always get the recognition he deserves at United, the 31-year-old is still putting up strong numbers this season.
According to Statman Dave, Fernandes has created more chances (50) than any other player in Europe’s top five leagues so far this season.
It’s an impressive stat, especially considering he’s been asked to play in a deeper role. It highlights just how effective he is as a playmaker, regardless of where he lines up.
