The former Reds star went against the notion that he recommended Dejan Lovren to Liverpool.

Reds legend Jamie Carragher took to Twitter last night to dispel the myth that he recommended Dejan Lovren as a good signing for his former club.
The Croatian has come in for fierce criticism following a succession of poor displays so far this season, particularly for his woeful showing for Liverpool against Tottenham on Sunday, when he was hooked after just 31 minutes.
The 28-year-old moved to Anfield from Southampton in July 2014, for a fee believed to be in the region of £20 million, and has earned mixed reviews for his performances during his time on Merseyside.

Carragher though, who made 737 appearances for the Reds during a 19-year spell at Anfield, is obviously not a fan of Lovren, and took to Twitter last night to clarify his stance on rumours that he recommended the Croatian as a good signing to Liverpool:

Lovren was brought to the club by then manager Brendan Rodgers, so it is unclear whether Jürgen Klopp rates him as a player.
What is certain, however, is that Liverpool’s recent defensive performances will be unsustainable, if they are serious about challenging for major honours on all fronts this term.
And the 28-year-old’s future at Anfield is clearly hanging in the balance.
