According to a report from French media outlet Telefoot, Reds boss Jürgen Klopp has identified PSG winger Julian Draxler as a potential replacement for Philippe Coutinho, should the Brazilian leave Anfield for Barcelona in January.

The Catalan giants had three bids for the talented play-maker rejected by Liverpool during the summer transfer window, but they are determined to seal a deal for the 25-year-old ace, with Sky Sports’ Guillem Balague claiming that they will return with another offer for him in January.

Whilst the Merseyside outfit will be desperate to keep hold of Coutinho, there seems to be little point in keeping a player who has his heart set on a move away from the club.

And Telefoot claim that the Reds will target Draxler, 24, if they eventually agree to sell their star man.

The Germany international has found his game-time limited since Neymar’s arrival in Paris, and could be tempted into a switch to Anfield.

And whilst he wouldn’t be a like-for-like replacement for Coutinho, he would certainly bring a cutting edge to Liverpool’s attacking play, what with his blistering pace, and the direct manner in which he operates.
