Liverpool are reportedly ahead of other Premier League clubs in the race for their first signing of the summer.
Arne Slot’s Liverpool have yet to make a senior summer addition with the Reds finishing in a UEFA Champions League place under Jurgen Klopp before the German departed Anfield at the end of the 2023/24 season.
HITC has reported that Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder Manu Kone has been offered to Liverpool this summer amongst other Premier League clubs but no move has been forthcoming.
Another potential transfer to watch is Fabio Carvalho, with Southampton submitting a bid for the Portuguese star who has yet to be given a chance for the Reds.

Liverpool ahead of others in the race for Giorgi Mamardashvili
Eddie Howe’s Newcastle United have previously been interested in Valencia’s Giorgi Mamardashvili but never made an offer for the goalkeeper.
The Georgia international starred for the La Liga side last season, keeping 13 clean sheets and conceding 41 goals from 37 games. He extended his impressive run at Euro 2024, and this saw the hype rise.
The Magpies never made a move for the Valencia goalkeeper and instead decided to sign Nottingham Forest’s Odysseas Vlachodimos.
Whilst Howe’s side have ended their interest in Mamardashvili, a post on X from Spanish outlet Deportes De Cope claims that the team who are the favourites to sign the Georgian are Liverpool.
Spanish outlet Relevo takes it a step further and claims that if Mamardashvili were to move to Anfield, the Reds would loan him out if they get a deal done with Alisson remaining as their number one.
Liverpool’s current backup goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher is attracting interest from Celtic so if he departs it would make sense to sign another shot-stopper.
Alisson Becker has been the first-choice goalkeeper since he arrived at Anfield in 2018. His deal lasts until 2027, but there have been rumours linking the 31-year-old Brazilian with Saudi clubs.
Liverpool face competition from Atletico Madrid for Mamardashvilli
Another side, according to the report, who are interested is Diego Simeone’s Atletico Madrid. Still, they will only consider a move for the goalkeeper if their first-choice option, Jan Oblak, departs the club.
Valencia reportedly demanded around £30 million for the goalkeeper when Newcastle were keen but it is unclear if the Spanish side would demand a similar figure if Liverpool were to formulate their interest.
“Mamardashvili was amazing at saving shots,” former Liverpool goalkeeper Davis James said of the Goergian to the Liverpool Echo. He noted, however, that no goalkeeper in the world is as complete as Alisson is at the moment.
As mentioned, Alisson has been linked with a move to the Saudi Pro League and his future could be unclear in the near future.
