Red Bull Salzburg striker Karim Adeyemi has indicated he would choose Bayern Munich over a big-money move to Premier League giants Liverpool, in quotes reported by Marca

Talk about unfinished business.

Nine years after leaving the Bavarian giants under a cloud – Marca blames a “lack of discipline” for Adeyemi’s premature departure – the 19-year-old poacher is in line for a return to his old stomping ground, albeit now established as one of the most exciting young forwards on the continent.

According to BILD, Bayern Munich are rivalling Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool for the £17 million-rated Adeyemi, looking to re-sign a man whose first spell at the club ended in acrimonious circumstances.

And while his former mentor and SpVgg Unterhaching president Manfred Schwabl believes a move to England would suit the teen sensation down to the ground, it seems Adeyemi sees things differently.

Will Karim Adeyemi reject Liverpool for Bayern Munich?

“If (Bayern) made me an offer, I think I would choose that path,” says Adeyemi, who became the youngest goalscorer for the German national team since 2011 in September and has since been likened to Kingsley Coman and Serge Gnabry.

“I want to show them what I can do, who I am and that it was a mistake to let me go. That motivates me.”

Adeyemi has scored eight goals in 11 games for club and country this season while making an eye-catching start to life in the Champions League. He won three penalties in the first half alone during Tuesday’s 1-1 draw with Sevilla at the Estadio Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan.

Valued in the region of £17 million, it seems only a matter of time before Adeyemi is graduating with flying honours from the esteemed Salzburg finishing school. He would follow in the footsteps of Erling Haaland, Patson Daka, Hwang Hee-chan, Dominik Szoboszlai and Takumi Minamino.
