Jamie Carragher has praised Liverpool central defender Ibrahima Konate on Sky Sports Premier League (6:02pm, March 5, 2022) while watching him in action against West Ham United at Anfield.
The Sky Sports pundit was impressed by Konate, and believes that the young defender has done well for Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool so far this season.
Carragher, a former Liverpool player, was on co-commentary duty on Sky Sports for the Premier League game between Liverpool and West Ham at Anfield on Saturday evening.
Konate started alongside Virgil van Dijk at the heart of the Liverpool defence against the Hammers.

Carragher said about Konate: “He has had a brilliant start to his Liverpool career, he really really has, Ibrahima Konate.
“Hasn’t played every week, Konate, young player with great attributes, is a very good passer of the ball, can play out from the beck.”
Future star
In our view, Konate has been a very good signing for Liverpool and is a future star in the making.
The 22-year-old centre-back cost Liverpool £36 million in transfer fees (The Guardian).
Konate has yet to make himself a regular in the Liverpool defence alongside Van Dijk.
Joel Matip is a senior figure who remains an important player for Liverpool.
Konate has made eight appearances in the Premier League, three in the Champions League, three in the FA Cup and four in the Carabao Cup for the Reds so far this season.
The defender is a squad player at Liverpool at the moment, but the Merseyside club will know that he is only just getting started.
