Liverpool have endured a frustrating campaign, and they may be tempted to look for new signings this summer as a result.
Despite landing Thiago Alcantara last summer, Liverpool continue to be linked with signing new midfielders – and another has been touted this week.
This time, it’s Napoli ace Piotr Zielinski, who has been on the Liverpool radar for almost five years now.
Liverpool had a bid rejected for Zielinski in 2016 when he was with Udinese, as Napoli swooped in to beat the Reds to his signature.
Jurgen Klopp even personally praised Zielinski after Liverpool took on Napoli last season, showing that the Reds still love him.
Now, Area Napoli report that Liverpool are ready to move for Zielinski, but face a battle with Manchester City and Barcelona.

This does make sense given Liverpool’s long-standing admiration of Zielinski, and fans have been taking to Twitter to react to the 26-year-old – once compared to Kevin De Bruyne – again being touted for a move to Liverpool.
Some think that Zielinski is a ‘great player’ and should finally be brought to Anfield, believing that he could form a great midfield with Thiago and Fabinho.
Others think Liverpool should move on rather than targeting Zielinski again, and think the Reds should instead go for Udinese ace Rodrigo De Paul.
