Liverpool picked up another win on Wednesday night, beating Porto 2-0 at Anfield as Neco Williams was given a chance to shine at right back.

The Reds had already qualified out of the group stage but didn’t slow up against Porto.

Thiago Alcantara’s beautiful strike put Liverpool 1-0 up before Mohamed Salah scored yet again to secure a comfortable win.

That’s five wins from five for Liverpool in their Champions League group this season as Jurgen Klopp’s men continue to thrive.

Part of Liverpool’s success was defender Williams, who was given a chance to start at right back.

Williams is in a difficult spot. Liverpool have a generational talent at right back in Trent Alexander-Arnold, meaning Williams doesn’t get many opportunities.

With Liverpool already qualified, Williams started for the Reds – and he turned in a strong performance.

Williams recorded two key passes, three tackles and one blocked shot in a solid display at right back.

Liverpool fans have been taking to Twitter to praise Williams, suggesting that he was ‘class’ against Porto.

Some feel that nobody truly realises just how good Williams has really been for Liverpool this season.

Many see a real improvement in Williams’ game, and feel he deserves the praise for that…
