Well, don’t write off Liverpool from making another signing before Tuesday’s deadline.
Jurgen Klopp kicked off the Reds’ January business in style – and early.
Within days of the window opening, Cody Gakpo was announced as a Liverpool player following a £37 million move from PSV Eindhoven.
Since then, though, there hasn’t been much excitement.
However, the Liverpool boss might just have a surprise signing up his sleeve for the fanbase.
That’s because the German manager revealed today that Nat Phillips could yet leave Anfield.

Klopp admitted that if there are offers for the Bolton-born powerhouse, the 25-year-old could leave – as covered by HITC Sport.
And this could indicate that Liverpool have a central defender in mind to come in.
Would the Reds be selling Phillips in the knowledge that Virgil van Dijk is already sidelined?
That would leave Klopp with only Ibrahima Konate, Joel Matip and Joe Gomez.
And let’s face it, Gomez can be a major liability and Matip has an injury history as long as one of his legs.
It seems unlikely that Liverpool would let Phillips leave if there wasn’t a replacement lined up for the big man.
If Phillips does leave, watch this space.
