With Jamal Musiala going from strength to strength, Leroy Sane turning jeers into cheers and Serge Gnabry rediscovering his golden touch with two goals in Sunday’s 5-1 thrashing of Bayer Leverkusen, reported Liverpool target Kingsley Coman was under pressure to perform as Bayern Munich travelled to Benfica in the Champions League this week.

And perform he did.

His most eye-catching display in a season disrupted by niggling injuries and a worrying heart condition, Coman beamed at the Stadium of Light. He gave the experienced Andre Almeida the runaround as Julian Nagelsmann’s Bayern machine steamrollered yet another opponent.

But how many more Champions League nights will Coman see in Bayern’s colours?

His contract expires in 2023 and, according to Spox, sources close to sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic have accepted a summer departure is inevitable.

Could Bayern Munich star Kingsley Coman come to Liverpool?

As Bayern showed during the drawn-out David Alaba saga, they won’t bow to player demands – even someone as influential as Alaba.

Coman’s camp is reportedly asking for £320,000 a week – a salary that would put him in line with the likes of Sane.

The chances of Bayern accepting that stance look as unlikely as a Robert Lewandowski goal drought, especially now Ajax star Antony has been lined up as a replacement.

It speaks volumes of the talent at Bayern’s disposal that Nagelsmann could comfortably move on without one of the finest wingers in European football at his disposal.

Coman has missed seven games this season and the Bavarians have won six of them, scoring 35 goals along the way!

According to Le10 Sport, Coman dreams of a move to England with Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool weighing up a swoop for a man who won the Champions League alongside Thiago Alcantara in 2020.

And while Coman remains an undisputed match-winner on his day, Bayern don’t lack world-class forwards.

Here’s what some supporters on Twitter thought about Coman’s performance against Benfica:
