Sources at Bayern Munich believe Kingsley Coman is destined to leave in January with the reported Liverpool target dreaming of a fresh challenge in the Premier League, as reported by Goal and Spox.
Just months after the high-profile departures of David Alaba and Jerome Boateng, the future of another long-serving Bayern star has been thrust into the spotlight as contract talks stall.
It’s no secret Coman, who has already sampled the delights of Ligue 1, Serie A and the Bundesliga, wants to tick the English top flight off his bucket list.
And what better time than now? Coman, after all, is in the prime of his career, relatively injury-free and has won pretty much all there is to win.
According to Le10 Sport, the flying Frenchman has admirers at Liverpool and Manchester City.
And while Jurgen Klopp and Pep Guardiola are hardly lacking in the creativity department, both clubs lack a direct, touchline-treading wide man who prefers to stay on the outside and whip crosses into the penalty area rather than cut inside and fire shots at goal.
Coman, quite simply, would give two of the best and most star-studded squads in world football something different. A fear-inducing Plan B.

The Paris-born 25-year-old is due to become a free agent in summer 2023 and, according to Spox, an extension is about as likely right now as Robert Lewandowski going on a five-game scoring drought.

It’s understood Coman’s camp is requesting a substantial pay rise – from about €12 million (£10 million) a year to €20 million a year.
When you consider Coman has played more than 200 games in six years at Bayern, winning six Bundesliga titles and scoring the winner in the 2020 Champions League final, you can see why he believes he deserves to be on a par with Leroy Sane wage-wise.
As Bayern showed during the Alaba saga, however, they are unlikely to bow to such demands. There’s a feeling Coman is destined to leave the club at some point next year.
The report adds Coman, who is valued by Bayern in the region of £67 million, could be replaced at the Allianz Arena by Ajax’s mercurial Brazil international Antony.
