Juventus will rue their decision to let reported Liverpool target Kingsley Coman leave for Bayern Munich amid claims the Champions League winner is now valued at £80 million, Serie A legend David Trezeguet has told Gazzetta dello Sport.

When discussing the rapid rise of the France international, it’s usually Paris Saint-Germain whose inability to retain the services of a fleet-footed, fresh-faced youngster comes under the microscope.

A teenage Coman made just three Ligue 1 appearances for PSG before leaving Parc des Princes on a free transfer in 2014.

But surely Juventus should be asking themselves some serious questions too?

While hardly the finished article during his time in Turin, Coman grew frustrated by his lack of opportunities under Max Allegri, demanding a move to Bayern Munich after a grand total of six Serie A starts.

Could Kingsley Coman leave Bayern Munich for Liverpool?

Eyebrows were certainly raised when Bayern Munich agreed a £25 million loan-to-buy deal for a player who was less proven and more promise.

But, after 16 trophies in six years at the Allianz Arena, a man who scored the winner in last year’s Champions League final victory over PSG – ironically enough – is understood to be valued in the region of £80 million these days.

“Juve’s biggest mistake was letting Kingsley Coman go,” says former Juventus and France striker Trezeguet.

At a time in which Jadon Sancho is closing in on a long-awaited move to Manchester United, reports have linked another Bundesliga superstar with a north-west giant.

Sport1 believes Liverpool have enquired about Coman.

At the age of 25, the jet-heeled winger appears to have put those devastating injury problems behind him at last, producing eight goals and 15 assists in 2020/21 during what was arguably his greatest season yet.

But, unless Bayern are willing to dramatically reduce their £80 million asking price, it seems unlikely Coman will be joining another European powerhouse before the summer is out.
