Barcelona are optimistic that Liverpool target Ousmane Dembele will sign a new contract, according to Sport.
Dembele is out of contract at Barcelona at the end of the season, and Liverpool are among the clubs interested in the French forward.
TEAMtalk reported in October that outgoing Liverpool sporting director Michael Edwards wants to sign Ousmane Dembele on a free transfer in the summer of 2022.
However, according to Sport, Barcelona are optimistic that the 24-year-old France international will renew his deal.
The Spanish publication has claimed that everything seems to indicate that Ousmane Dembele will put pen to paper on a new contract.
Barcelona are reportedly due to hold talks with the 24-year-old’s agent this week.

Ousmane Dembele transfer blow for Liverpool
In our view, this report in Sport is a blow for Liverpool in their quest to sign Ousmane Dembele on a free transfer.
It appears that the former Borussia Dortmund star is willing to commit his long-term future to Barcelona.
Now, Liverpool can agree a pre-contract agreement with Dembele, but that can only be done from January 1.
So, in our view, this week will be massive for Liverpool in their quest to bring the Frenchman to Anfield for next season and beyond.
