Liverpool fans are rightfully annoyed and questioning their lack of summer signings.
You have to question if Fenway Sports Group (FSG) are aware that they have a new manager in the Anfield dugout because they haven’t welcomed him with open arms.
Arne Slot already has a difficult job on his hands at Liverpool because he is replacing the legendary figure, Jurgen Klopp.
But with the new Premier League season set to kick off at the weekend, the Reds are the only team without a major signing and it should be concerning.

The midfield and defence could do with some much-needed quality and refreshment, as fans could get their wish sooner rather than later.
Tony Cascarino is certainly excited by one midfielder Liverpool could be about to sign and how he is ‘very capable on the ball’.
Spain beat England in the final of Euro 2024 in July, with Martin Zubimendi coming off the bench for that final, when he replaced the injured Rodri, and produced a masterclass of a performance in such a pressured environment.
Now, Liverpool could sign the 25-year-old, with Cascarino stating that he is a ‘quality’ player and someone who will ‘fit’ into Slot’s system, as he told talkSPORT.
Sources have told HITC about Zubimendi’s transfer stance amid Liverpool interest, with Cascarino warning that he isn’t a Philippe Coutinho-type player, but instead, more of a team player.
Martin Zubimendi at Liverpool
“Very, very capable on the ball, just retaining possession, seeing a pass, he does it brilliantly,” said Cascarino. “Rodri was their main man in midfield and always has been. But he is a quality footballer.
“He will have no problem receiving balls in tight areas because he will wriggle his way out of it. He is a team player, mainly. I wouldn’t say he is a brilliant individual because technically he’s great, but he’s not a Coutinho, where he’s going to just light up by his brilliant movement and then often could fire one in the top corner. I don’t see that.
“I see a more team ethic player that will fit into Liverpool’s system.”

All change at Liverpool?
Many are questioning what direction Liverpool are heading towards as they are yet to improve on a squad that crawled over the line last season.
But perhaps there are signs with the current players and their contracts. Ally McCoist is stunned by the news that Virgil van Dijk hasn’t been handed a new deal.

Whilst Trent Alexander-Arnold’s transfer links to Real Madrid continue to ramp up, and Saudi Arabia remain interested in Mohamed Salah.
All those players could be out of the door by next summer given their contract situation and it could be all change on Merseyside with Klopp already gone.
