According to the latest information provided by Sky Germany journalist Marc Behrenbeck, Chelsea look the likeliest to sign Youssoufa Moukoko in the summer.
Sport had revealed just recently that Graham Potter’s side had made an offer to sign the Borussia Dortmund forward.
However, the German international has been linked with several Premier League teams before the West Londoners.
In fact, three weeks ago, SPORTBild had claimed Liverpool were keen on adding the 18-year-old to their ranks.
Around the same time, Tottenham were also touted as interested suitors in the versatile forward as an understudy to Harry Kane by 90 Min.
Considering Youssoufa Moukoko, once compared to Leo Messi by Samuel Eto’o (via GOAL) is having a brilliant campaign with Dortmund, it is no surprise to see several sides express their interest in his signature.
With 6 goals and 4 assists in 8 Bundesliga starts this term, the highly-rated wonderkid has thrived in an unfamiliar role as a striker.
However, Liverpool and Tottenham could be dealt a transfer blow by their domestic rivals.
Chelsea are the frontrunners in the race to sign Youssoufa Moukoko
Journalist Marc Behrenbeck told Sky Sports that Chelsea are the closest out of all potential suitors to sign Youssoufa Moukoko from Borussia Dortmund.
“It is clear that a lot of top clubs are enquiring about Moukoko and are keen on him as he is available on a free transfer in the summer, and is a bargain”, he said.
“We hear that Chelsea are the closest. There have already been negotiations and talks. Other clubs on the list are Manchester United, Liverpool, Barcelona and Newcastle.”
“But the hottest is Chelsea, others are not that far yet.”
Ultimately, this is bad news for both Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur, who are in desperate need for attacking reinforcements.
Considering Chelsea are not in a particularly encouraging space themselves this season, the fact that they are leading the race to sign Youssoufa Moukoko does not reflect well on both the Reds and Spurs.
