La Liga champions Barcelona and Serie A winners Napoli are also keeping tabs on Mitoma, who was described as “direct” and “incredible” by West Ham United star Jarrod Bowen on BBC Radio 5 Live Sport last month.
However, Brighton are trying to tie Mitoma down to a new deal.
90min has reported that Brighton are confident that the Japan international will put pen to paper on a new contract before the end of the year.
Kaoru Mitoma could leave Brighton in 2024 summer
In our view, Liverpool or Manchester City could be able to sign Kaoru Mitoma from Brighton and Hove Albion in the summer of 2024, even if he signs a new deal in the coming months.
Brighton do tend to sell their best players, albeit for a lot of money.
The Seagulls cashed in on Moises Caicedo in the summer transfer window and also parted company with Alexis Mac Allister.
While Caicedo moved to Chelsea, Mac Allister joined Liverpool.

Mitoma is 26 now and is about to enter his peak years.
The Japan international winger himself could be tempted to leave Brighton if Liverpool or Manchester City came calling.
After all, the Reds and the Citizens are bigger clubs who regularly challenge for and win major trophies.
Mitoma has made 37 appearances in the Premier League so far in his career.
The winger has scored eight goals and given eight assists in those games.
