With the PGA Tour season concluding, speculation is already circulating regarding which players might join LIV Golf in 2026.

LIV have their work cut out this winter. Their lack of big-name signings before the 2025 season suggested that most stars had already made up their minds about whether to make the switch.

It is worth noting that Scott O’Neil had previously mentioned LIV was targeting PGA Tour players earlier in the year.

LIV Golf are reportedly in discussions with two recent PGA Tour winners regarding a potential move.

The report does not reveal names and notes they are not marquee players, but it is still notable anytime someone who has hoisted a trophy recently is linked to another tour.

Fortunately for Rolapp, it appears one of this year’s champions has all but confirmed his commitment to remaining with the PGA Tour.

Aldrich Potgieter indicates he will remain with PGA Tour, not join LIV Golf

Aldrich Potgieter has been one of the more notable names this season. The South African claimed victory at the Rocket Classic, winning a playoff against Chris Kirk and Max Greyserman.

There was speculation that Potgieter could be a target for LIV Golf, especially with the league set to hold its first event in South Africa in 2026. A move to Stinger GC would not have raised many eyebrows given those circumstances.

However, it appears that the 21-year-old has signalled his intention to stay on the PGA Tour. After withdrawing from the Bank of Utah Championship this week, he posted an update on Instagram addressing his future plans.

“What a rookie season it’s been on the PGA Tour. Grateful to get my first win, make the FedEx Cup playoffs, and take a lot of positives from the year. Excited for a bit of an off-season coming up with the Nedbank and Dunhill in South Africa to finish things off. Lots to also work on before January rolls around for the start of the 2026 PGA Tour season. Big thanks to my team, family, friends and all the support I get from the fans,” he published.

A big boost for the PGA Tour as Aldrich Potgieter looks to confirm his plans for 2026

It is always risky to speak in absolutes in golf, especially with how much the landscape has shifted recently. Potgieter would not be the first to change his mind about LIV. But for now, it looks like he is not planning a move anytime soon.

His decision would be another boost for the PGA Tour, too.

Potgieter is still inconsistent, and his approach play needs work, but there is no denying his power off the tee. In 2025, he led the PGA Tour in driving distance, just ahead of Rory McIlroy.

That kind of distance always draws attention, especially on courses that demand it most.

And with Potgieter only just turning 21 last month, he has plenty of time to develop his game even further.

LIV will almost certainly circle back at some point. And if he continues to progress, their offer might be even harder to ignore next time around.
