Tottenham Hotspur winger Erik Lamela has taken to Instagram to express his disappointment at his side’s failure to win the Carabao Cup final.
Spurs suffered a 1-0 defeat to Premier League rivals Manchester City in the final on Sunday.
Aymeric Laporte scored the only goal of the game in the 82nd minute at Wembley Stadium in London to crush Spurs’ dreams of winning a major trophy.
Lamela, who can operate as a winger or as an attacking midfielder, did not start the final.
In fact, the 29-year-old Argentina international did not even come on as a substitute, as interim-manager Ryan Mason left him on the bench.
The former AS Roma star has taken to Instagram to express his disappointment at the final result, and so has his Spurs teammate Eric Dier.
Lamela has had injury problems this season, like in years gone by, but the winger is now fully fit and available.
The former River Plate star must have been eager to play in the Carabao Cup final on Sunday, and he will surely be disappointed that he did not come on even as a substitute.

The 29-year-old has actually been linked with a move away from Spurs in the summer transfer window.
Well-known Italian journalist Alfredo Pedulla told Area Napoli earlier this month that Lamela wants to go back to Italy and is likely to leave Spurs at the end of the season, as cover by HITC Sport.
According to WhoScored, Lamela has made five starts and 16 substitute appearances in the Premier League, and made four starts and two substitute appearances in the Europa League for Spurs this season.
