Some Aston Villa fans on social media have been going crazy over Louie Barry after his goalscoring debut against Liverpool on Friday evening.
Aston Villa knew they faced an uphill task heading into the game at Villa Park. They had to field a team entirely made up of youth players, and to make matters even worse, they were facing the reigning Premier League champions.
However, to their credit, Villa’s youngsters didn’t look out of their depth for large portions of the game, and they went into half-time level after Louie Barry netted an equaliser.
Barry may only be 17, but he took his goal as if he was a veteran forward who had been doing this for years.
Barry raced away, getting in behind Rhys Williams before curling one into the far corner to score on his senior debut.
Barry has long-been seen as a future star at Villa Park, and in this one instance he showed exactly why he was on Barcelona’s books at one point.
As you can imagine, the Villa fanbase were going wild about the youngster after his big moment against Liverpool.
