Some Aston Villa fans on Twitter have been losing their minds over Louie Barry after the young striker netted a brace against Fulham in the U23s’ draw with the London club.
Barry has long-been touted as one of the brightest young stars in Villa’s academy, and it’s no surprise that he is seen as a top talent, after all, he was on Barcelona’s books for a short period of time.
Villa fans may be jumping the gun a bit here, but one supporter went as far as to compare him to his former Barca compatriot Lionel Messi.
Your Player Who Gets Compared To A LEGEND
If Barry is even half as good as Messi, Villa will have a player on their hands, but without going over the top, it’s fair to say that he’s a top talent.
Some supporters have been previously called for him to get a go in the first-team, with suggestions ranging from playing him in the cup to putting him on the bench, and after Keinan Davis picked up an injury this week, that doesn’t seem like too bad of an idea.
Of course, Barry is only 17 years old, so we shouldn’t put too much pressure on his young shoulders, but fans do seem to believe he is the next big thing at Villa Park.
Reckon Louie Barry might be better than Messi, you know. https://t.co/3r4kMO6WY9
