Leeds United defender Liam Cooper has praised his teammate Luke Ayling on Instagram for his performance against Tottenham Hotspur.

Cooper believes that fellow Leeds defender Ayling was “different class”, as Marcelo Bielsa’s side got the better of Tottenham 3-1 at Elland Road.

As expected these days in the Premier League, there were refereeing and VAR controversies, which led Spurs interim-manager Ryan Mason to be “shocked”.

However, on the balance of play, Leeds were the better team and deservedly picked up all three points from the encounter.

One of the best players on the pitch was Ayling, who started the game at right-back, and his display impressed Cooper, as shown below.

Ayling has been one of the best players for Leeds this season and has impressed former Manchester United and Liverpool star Paul Ince among others.

The 29-year-old works hard for the team, defends well and also goes on attacking forays.

The former Arsenal prospect is a consistent figure in the team, having made 35 appearances in the Premier League this season.

Against Spurs, Ayling did well and kept forward Son Heung-min relatively quiet, except perhaps for the run for his goal.
