Tottenham Hotspur fans aren’t too pleased with what they hearing from their club legend, Jurgen Klinsmann, about the manager role.
It’s been nearly two months since Jose Mourinho was sacked by Daniel Levy at Tottenham, yet no new face has arrived through their doors.
Klinsmann, 56, admitted to ESPN that he spoke to Levy about the vacant manager’s role after Mourinho’s sacking, as Spurs fans want him to stay well away from the dugout.
Levy isn’t a popular figure with Tottenham fans as it is and if Klinsmann is even considered by those in the North London boardroom then the reaction won’t be pretty.
Names far and wide have been thrown into the Tottenham ring, yet there isn’t any clear idea or sign as to who will be handed the reigns.
From the likes of Antonio Conte being mentioned, who recently left Inter Milan after winning the Serie A title, to potentially going down the route of appointing a club legend in Klinsmann.
The problem that faces Levy is that he’s not the only chairman looking for a new manager/coach this summer because so are Crystal Palace, Wolves and Everton.
Whilst Klinsmann shared ‘let’s see down the road what happens’ with this Tottenham role after his contact with Levy, it’s pretty clear that the supporters want his legendary status at the club to remain intact.
The problem facing Levy is that he has to get an already frustrated and disgruntled Tottenham fan base to deal with, and pushing for a name that doesn’t appeal to those paying the tickets won’t help.
