Thierry Henry has spoken about the latest on Daniel Ek’s reported plan to takeover Arsenal after the pair were spotted at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday.

Speaking on Monday Night Football, the Premier League legend revealed that work is still being done in attempting to buy Arsenal from Stan Kroenke. Ek, the founder of Spotify, expressed his interest in purchasing the Gunners the European Super League debacle.

Reports have already suggested that Ek had an offer turned down from Kroenke to takeover Arsenal. Yet Henry has stated that the Swedish billionaire remains interested in buying the north London club.

The Arsenal icon said: “To be able to get there, you need someone to respond on the other side. It hasn’t happened yet.

“He is here to stay, so let’s see what’s going to happen. I think it’s going to be long. How long it is going to be? I don’t actually know, but we are here to say.”

With the owners going into their pockets this summer to help fund Mikel Arteta in his huge spending spree over the off-season, Kroenke is seemingly attempting to win over the support of Arsenal fans after ten years of little-to-no investment.

However, Henry’s comments on Ek will no doubt encourage supporters despite the Swedish entrepreneur already have an offer knocked back by Arsenal’s billionaire owners.

The process will no doubt be lengthy. But the motivation is seemingly there to buy the Gunners from Kroenke despite a few months of relative silence from the consortium.
