Paris Saint-Germain star Neymar sent words of encouragement to Richarlison on the Tottenham forward’s Instagram after his injury scare over the weekend.

Tottenham recorded a 2-0 win over Everton and Richarlison was forced off injured early in the second half against his former club.

Early reports from that game suggested that the 25-year-old might have been a doubt ahead of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar next month – ESPN Brazil suggested he was in tears.

Many players from across the world are in that stage of being extra careful, where they are well aware one small knock from here on in could cost them competing on football’s biggest stage.

Liverpool forward Diogo Jota has suffered such bad news because, after going off on a stretcher during his side’s win over Man City on Sunday, he will now miss out on fulfilling a life-long dream, as posted by the club’s official website.

Whilst some are unlucky, others are fortunate, as Richarlison is in that camp and he shared on Monday that he will only be out of action for two weeks.

Nonetheless, his fellow Brazil international, who he will be expected to line-up against in Qatar, had these encouraging words for the Spurs summer signing on Instagram.

“Let’s go, little dove,” said Neymar. “Let’s go, let’s go.”

BRAZIL LOOKING TO SET THE WORLD CUP ALIGHT

There aren’t many teams at the 2022 World Cup that will have the firepower, and depth of attacking quality, Brazil will be able to display and showcase in Qatar.

Richarlison should be a sure pick because he was in Tite’s final squad before the tournament, but some big names might miss out.

Arsenal’s thriving forward Gabriel Jesus might be one of them, whilst there isn’t space for Neymar, Vinicius Jr, Richarlison, Rodrygo, Antony, Roberto Firmino and Raphinha in the starting XI.

Either way, the South American powerhouses will be expected to go deep into the competition, and perhaps, for others, win the whole thing because it has been a long time coming.
