Tottenham defender Eric Dier is one of the six players up for the Premier League Player of the Month award.
Spurs confirmed on their official Twitter account that the 26-year-old centre-back has been nominated for the monthly award. Dier will face competition from Premier League stars Michail Antonio and Mason Greenwood for the award.
Dier has started life under Nuno Espirito Santo in brilliant fashion, with the defender keeping three Premier League sheets so far this campaign. Davinson Sanchez and Japhet Tanganga have also excelled in the defence.
Spurs sit top of the table after three 1-0 wins-in-a-row. With north London rivals Arsenal 20th in the standings, it has been the dream start to the season for Tottenham.
After all, the reemergence of Dier in the Premier League has been surprising to many supporters. The Tottenham defender was likely to leave this window, with the £72,000-a-week player performing poorly last campaign.
Indeed, the return of Dier to top form has been a shock to lots of Tottenham fans. Moreover, supporters on social media are buzzing that the former Sporting Lisbon star has been nominated for the Player of the Month award.
