HITC understands that Manchester United have told interested parties that they have set a new price tag for midfielder Scott McTominay.

The 27-year-old midfielder – who has been at Old Trafford since the age of five – could leave the Red Devils this summer if the valuation is met.

It is understood that Manchester United are willing to part ways with Scott McTominay if they receive a fee of £40million.

As previously revealed by HITC, Fulham made an enquiry about signing McTominay this summer as they look to replace Joao Palhinha at Craven Cottage.

Galatasaray have also made an approach for McTominay this summer with board member Ibrahim Hatipoglu telling Turkish outlet Taktik Mania that “McTominay’s transfer fee is being discussed”.

However, HITC has been told that Galatasaray’s valuation of McTominay does not match United’s new £40million price tag.

Galatasaray are also looking into Tottenham‘s Pierre Emile-Hojbjerg as a midfield option but the Dane is attracting interest from clubs in Europe and the Saudi Pro League.

Erik ten Hag is still a big admirer of Scott McTominay

United are willing to part ways with McTominay if their asking price is met this summer, but a sale might not put a smile on Erik ten Hag‘s face.

HITC understands that the Dutchman still sees the Scottish star as an important member of his squad.

Ten Hag has previously hailed McTominay as “fantastic” and added that he “gives his life” for the club.

United are only willing to part with McTominay for a significant fee because Ten Hag is still an admirer of the 27-year-old.

As an academy product, McTominay’s sale this summer would bring huge benefits to the club’s spending power under the current Profit and Sustainability Rules.

United have already parted ways with academy star Willy Kambwala this summer and are set to receive a £10million fee for the teenager.
