Leicester are now close to hiring Jesse Marsch – who was interviewed by Southampton – as a replacement for Brendan Rodgers.
The 49-year-old was keen to make a quick return to Premier League football after losing his job at Leeds back in February.
Now – thanks to Leicester – Marsch appears to have got his wish.
What’s the story?
Well – according to the Telegraph – Leicester are close to appointing the American.
An announcement is expected to be made within the next 24 hours after Marsch impressed in talks with those at the King Power Stadium on Thursday.
It is also said that Dean Smith – let go by Aston Villa in 2021 – was interviewed.
The Telegraph add that Marsch came close to joining Southampton at the end of February after the Saints decided to sack Nathan Jones.

However, the Wisconsin-born tactician wanted a longer contract, having only been offered a short-term deal lasting six months.
Leicester are contrastingly said to be offering Marsch a three-year contract as well as the remainder of the current campaign.
Leicester fans should ask questions after Southampton decision
In our view, Leicester fans should be asking themselves why their beloved Foxes are happy to give Marsch the three-year contract he wanted, but Southampton were not so sure.
Southampton’s decision is even more telling when you consider the fact they tracked Marsch for seven years and also compiled a 60-page document on his career in management, according to The Athletic.
Leicester sit 19th in the Premier League, while Southampton are 20th.
If the Premier League’s basement side felt that Marsch wasn’t worth pushing the boat out for to keep them up this season, then it is certainly strange to see Leicester take the risk.
In truth, it was odd to see either side interview the American, as he is only available due to the fact he steered Leeds into the very same relegation battle Leicester and Southampton find themselves in.
Nevertheless, Leicester seem sold on Marsch – be sure to keep your eyes peeled for an official announcement.
