Departing Coventry City youngster George Thomas seems to be in demand, with Leicester City and Leeds United among the clubs linked.

George Thomas is one of the most talented and promising young players in the lower leagues in England.

Thomas, who is 20 years of age and can operate as a striker or as a midfielder, is without a club at the moment following his departure from Coventry City.

The youngster’s contract with Coventry has come to an end, and he is on the lookout for a new club.

Given the talent and quality of Thomas, who scored five goals in 23 League One starts for the Sky Blues last season, according to WhoScored, he is not going to be short of offers.

According to The Daily Mail, Leicester City have made an offer of £450,000 to Coventry to secure the services of the 20-year-old in the summer transfer window, as the Sky Blues are due compensation.

The same report has also credited Swansea City, Burnley and Newcastle United with interest in Thomas.

With so many big clubs (reportedly) interested in Thomas, Leeds United need to step up their game and make a move now.

HITC Sport reported back in April that Leeds were monitoring the youngster (click here to read more). Queens Park Rangers were also eyeing a move for the atatcker.

If Leeds are serious about signing Thomas this summer, then it is time for them to make an offer, especially as Leicester are reported to have already made one.

Thomas may not be able to walk into the starting lineup at Elland Road straightaway, but he would be a very good long-term signing for the the Whites.
