Leeds United suffered a setback in their hopes of automatic qualification on Sunday with their loss to Huddersfield Town.
The Whites suffered a bitterly disappointing last mute defeat to local rivals Huddersfield Town on Sunday, and Kyle Bartley spoke to the Yorkshire Evening Post about the prospect of meeting the Terriers again once the season is over in the play-offs.
Garry Monk’s hint for the board
Huddersfield and Leeds are currently occupying fourth and fifth positions in the Championship table respectively, and with the gap in points between second and seventh place in the league standing at a huge 15 points, a place in the play-offs looks like being pretty much a certainty for the Yorkshire clubs.
Leeds’ Kyle Bartley
And Bartley shared how the thought of meeting Huddersfield again this season is something that is motivating him and his teammates, as they head into the final third of their campaign, as quoted by the Yorkshire Evening Post:
“I’m sure we’ll see them again sooner or later and that will be in the back of our minds. But for now, we have to move on. It was three points lost but we go into the next two games looking to get those points back. It’s motivation for the rest of the season and not just for one game or two games. We will move on but it sticks in the back of your memory.”
Leeds’ Kyle Bartley
The 25-year-old centre-back made the move to Elland Road in the summer, on a season-long loan, and has gone on to become one of Leeds’ most consistent performers.

If Garry Monk’s men are to continue their push for promotion, they will need Bartley to maintain his fine levels of performance.
And if, come May, the Whites and Terriers square off once again in the play-offs, Bartlett and co will be out for revenge.
