The Leeds United boss was forced to wait until the final day of the transfer window to get two deals over the line.
Garry Monk spoke to BBC Radio Leeds in the wake of his side’s 2-1 win at Blackburn Rovers yesterday, and highlighted how, despite being pleased with the players he brought into the club in January, he and his board must act faster during future transfer windows.
Did Monk have a valid point with his remarks about Leeds’ fixture schedule?
The Whites completed the loan signings of Modou Barrow from Swansea City and Alfonso Pedraza on deadline day, which meant that both players were not available for selection for last night’s trip to Ewood Park.
And Monk highlighted the manner in which his club recruit players as something that needs addressing as they move forward, when speaking to BBC Radio Leeds:

“There are other things that go on in a transfer window. Ideally from my situation I guess, and we’ve briefly spoken about it, we need to improve the planning, we don’t want to be doing the business all on the last day [of the transfer window].”

Leeds now sit in fourth position in the Championship table, and more importantly, just five points adrift of Newcastle United in second position.
And following their huge game at Huddersfield Town on Sunday, the West Yorkshire outfit face an extremely favourable run of fixtures, including three consecutive games against teams inside the bottom 10 positions in the table.
