Ally McCoist has stated that it’s ‘not crazy’ to suggest that Leeds United could replace Javi Gracia with former Chelsea manager Graham Potter.

Managers have been sacked left, right and centre in the Premier League this season. Chelsea have booted two out the door, most recently Graham Potter, who left Stamford Bridge in April.

Whilst Leeds United could be about to do the same, this time with Javi Gracia as they try to avoid relegation to the dreaded Championship.

Former England boss Sam Allardyce has been mentioned as a ‘leading contender’, whilst Danny Mills reacted to the suggestion his former teammate could take the role – he sent a clear message.

But it was put to former Scotland striker McCoist, by a Leeds fan, that the club should do everything they can to bring in Potter, who is now a free agent.

Rather than bat away that dream scenario happening, McCoist gave it some oxygen, as he told talkSPORT Breakfast (02/05/23 at 9:25 am).

“Do you think Leeds is attractive to Graham Potter,” asked Laura Woods.

“I tell you what, I don’t think that’s a crazy shout,” said McCoist. “I think a lot of the Leeds fans would go with that. I really, really do. I don’t think it’s a crazy shout. It’s an interesting one.”

POTTER WOULDN’T TAKE LEEDS JOB

Unless you want a big payday, you would be crazy to take a Premier League job at this stage of the season when a team is fighting relegation.

Potter’s reputation has taken the biggest of hits after his ill-fated reign at Chelsea.

The former Brighton boss isn’t going to react to that by taking the Leeds job with a few weeks of the season to go, have relegation on his CV and then seeing more negative head his way.
