According to The Daily Star, Leeds United are expected to complete the signing of Todd Cantwell from Norwich City this week.

The summer transfer window in England closes on Friday, and Premier League club Leeds expect to secure the services of Cantwell from Championship side Norwich before then, according to the report.

Would Todd Cantwell make Leeds United better?

Cantwell is a very good and promising young midfielder who scores goals and creates chances for his teammates.

According to WhoScored, the 22-year-old scored six goals and provided two assists in the Premier League for the Canaries last season.

The Englishman showed last season that he is good enough to play in the Premier League, and he would be a good option for Leeds head coach Marcelo Bielsa in his squad.

Pablo Hernandez is not getting any younger, and Cantwell – described as “exceptional” by former Norwich striker Chris Sutton on BBC Radio 5 Live in June 2020 – would give the Spanish attacking midfielder the support he needs.

The midfielder is a very young and dynamic player, and it would not take him much time to get used to the way Bielsa does things at Leeds.

However, it must be noted that Cantwell recently expressed his “love” for Norwich on Instagram, as covered by HITC Sport here.
