Leeds United want Josh Tymon and are eyeing up a move for the Stoke City ace in light of the injury suffered by Junior Firpo.

The Whites have been immensely busy this summer with Brenden Aaronson, Rasmus Kristensen, Marc Roca, Darko Gyabi, Tyler Adams and Luis Sinisterra all arriving.

It hasn’t all been good news for Leeds though with Kalvin Phillips and Raphinha moving on.

That does at least boost the Leeds transfer budget and Jesse Marsch should be able to bring in some more new faces.

One area of concern is left back given that Junior Firpo will now miss eight weeks with injury, leaving Leeds short on the left side of defence.

Leeds United want Josh Tymon

The Daily Mail now report that Leeds are interested in signing Stoke talent Tymon to come in at left back.

It’s stated that Leeds are weighing up making a move to sign Tymon having learned of Firpo’s injury.

In truth, we think Leeds should have been in the market for another left back anyway.

Firpo’s debut Premier League season was a real struggle and just adding competition would have been ideal.

Stuart Dallas is out for a while yet and Leeds really need some depth at left back, especially with Leif Davis potentially moving on.

Tymon could be the man for Leeds but there have also been links to Philadelphia Union ace Kai Wagner.

Tymon, 23, came up through the Hull City ranks but has become a first-team ace at Stoke, playing as an attack-minded left back or left wing back.

Leeds may face a battle for Tymon though as The Scottish Sun reported in June that Rangers are in the race to sign the Stoke ace.

Rangers were allegedly looking into £5million deal having picked out Tymon as a potential replacement for Borna Barisic.

Barisic is still at Rangers though, meaning the Gers haven’t pushed to bring Tymon to Ibrox.

That could allow Leeds to swoop in and land Tymon, with a deal now in mind after that blow for Firpo.
