Fabrizio Romano has suggested on Twitter that Marcelo Bielsa’s Leeds United have not given up on signing Takumi Minamino from Liverpool in the January transfer window.
The well-known and well-respected journalist has claimed that Liverpool attacker Minamino is still on the list of players that Leeds want to sign now.
Romano has added that Leeds are willing to let Crysencio Summerville leave this month, but they need a replacement, and that is Japan international Minamino.
The journalist’s comments on Leeds and Minamino just hours after The Times reported that Leeds have had an enquiry for the 27-year-old turned down.
The Athletic have reported that Liverpool value Minamino at £20 million.

Could Leeds sign Liverpool’s Takumi Minamino?
In our view, Leeds do have a chance of signing Minamino in the January transfer window, but it is unlikely that they will be able to get him for less than the £20 million that Liverpool reportedly want for him.
FC Porto winger Luis Diaz is reportedly on his way to Liverpool.
So, in our view, Liverpool manager Klopp is now going to use Minamino even less frequently than he has done.
This means that Liverpool could be receptive to offers for the Japan international, who can play as an attacking midfielder or as a winger.
But, will Leeds be able to spend £20 million on Minamino?
In fact, we should even ask whether Leeds should spend £20 million on a 27-year-old attacker who has scored just five goals and created only two big chances in 37 Premier League appearances so far in his career.
