Leeds United are running out of time to find a replacement for Crysencio Summerville and one of their top targets has a hefty price tag.

The Yorkshire side kicked off their Championship campaign in dramatic fashion on Saturday afternoon with a blockbuster 3-3 draw against Portsmouth.

Daniel Farke’s side has been picked apart this summer after their failed promotion push, including Championship Player of the Year Crysensio Summerville completing a move to West Ham.

Leeds United can still rely on the likes of Dan James and Wilfried Gnonto out wide, but Crysencio Summerville‘s absence was notable at Elland Road and a replacement is now a top priority.

As revealed by HITC, Leeds United face a battle with Marseille for Norwich City star Jonathan Rowe, who has emerged as one of the top candidates to replace Summerville.

Roberto de Zerbi’s side have failed with an initial offer of under £10 million, and Norwich City have now named their starting price.

Norwich City name Jonathan Rowe price tag

Leeds have asked Norwich about Rowe as they look to raid their Championship rivals.

Despite suggestions that Leeds could sign the 21-year-old for less than £10million, Norwich’s price tag may make Leeds fans wince.

According to FootMercato, Norwich have decided to set a starting price of €17million (£15million) amid interest from Leeds and Marseille.

The report adds that Marseille are in negotiations with the Canaries as they look to strike an agreement for Rowe.

Norwich have already parted ways with star midfielder Gabriel Sara in a £15million deal and are hesitant to also lose Rowe this summer.

Leeds have pocketed £40million from Archie Gray’s move to Tottenham this summer while West Ham also paid around £25million for Summerville.

If they are desperate to bring Rowe in as the Dutchman’s replacement then they may need to cough up the cash before Marseille beat them to his signature.
