Rangers were keen to sign Leeds United’s Crysencio Summerville in January and they will surely be interested in his hat-trick on Monday night.
The Gers were looking for a new winger during the January transfer window.
In the end, Rangers managed to land Manchester United talent Amad Diallo in a deal that hasn’t quite worked out as hoped.
Diallo wasn’t the only name on the list though as the Daily Mail reported that Rangers also fancied signing Summerville from Leeds.
Rangers boss Giovanni van Bronckhorst worked with Summerville at Feyenoord and seemingly saw enough in him to target a reunion.
With Diallo only on loan at Rangers until the summer, maybe Summerville will be back on the Gers’ radar in the coming months.
You could hardly blame Summerville for fancying a move away from Leeds; he still isn’t really considered as a first-team player after two years at Elland Road.
The 20-year-old is still playing Under-23 football and has once again shown that he needs to be playing at a higher level.
After smashing a hat-trick against Liverpool’s Under-23’s in February, Summerville racked up another treble on Monday.

Leeds Under-23’s hosted Crystal Palace and Summerville fired a superb hat-trick in a 4-0 thrashing, with Stuart McKinstry also on the scoresheet.
Quick and skilful, Summerville is the kind of winger who can get fans on the edge of their seats.
If Rangers can offer first-team football, Summerville would surely prefer that kind of challenge rather than playing in the Leeds Under-23’s again and again.
With Daniel James, Jack Harrison and Raphinha all in the first-team picture, it’s hard to see just how Summerville will force his way in any time soon.
Having excelled on Monday night, Rangers may be wise to go back in for Summerville this summer and offer him first-team action at Ibrox.
